The men of the Ogun State Police Command arrested on Friday three alleged female underwear cult members allegedly tied with spells in the Sagamu local government area.
The suspects seized were identified as Olagboye Abidemi, 32; Olasemojo Michael, 28; and Wasiu Waheed, 23 reported that they were members of the Eiye Confraternity.
They were arrested at their initiation hideout in the Agbowa area in Ogijo on Friday.
The arrest of the suspects was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the state police, Abimbola Oyeyemi.
Oyeyemi said the suspects’ arrest was made in continuation of the command’s war over cultism and other violent crimes.
He said: “The Ogijo DPO division, CSP Muhammed Baba, while leading his men in Operation Puff Adder on a routine patrol, has garnered information about the cachet of cultists, where they usually initiate new members.”
“The place was invaded and three members of the group were arrested.”
“Recovered from them was a penknife, a silver knife stained with blood, women’s undergarments tied with charms and other assorted charms.”
Oyeyemi said Police Commissioner Bashir Makama ordered the transfer of suspects to the Anti-Kidnapping / Anti-Crop section of the State Department of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence for further investigation.
The PPRO said the commissioner warned that the state would not allow violence because the commando is ready to take the battle to their door.
